What Are We About?

Vape Waste Solutions Inc. is a Wisconsin-based nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing the escalating environmental and public health challenges posed by disposable e-cigarettes.

Founded by Jared Sheen, the organization focuses on education, safe disposal, and community engagement to mitigate the harmful impacts of vape waste.

🚭 The Growing Vape Waste Crisis

The surge in disposable e-cigarette usage has introduced significant environmental hazards.

These devices, containing lithium-ion batteries, nicotine, and heavy metals, are not designed for reuse or recycling.

Improper disposal can lead to fires in waste facilities and the leaching of toxic substances into soil and waterways.

🧒 Protecting Youth from Accidental Exposure

Discarded vapes pose a serious risk to children—especially those who are curious.
With their colorful designs and candy-like flavors, these devices can easily catch the eye of young people. Kids who are interested or influenced by peer pressure may pick them up off the ground just to try it, often getting their first hit of nicotine from a used vape.

This not only introduces them to addiction but also exposes them to harmful chemicals and bacteria left on the device. Cases of nicotine poisoning have been reported after children came into contact with improperly discarded vape products.

♻️ Vape Waste Solutions' Mission

Vape Waste Solutions Inc. aims to combat these issues through:

  • Education: Raising awareness about the dangers of vape waste and promoting responsible disposal practices.

  • Safe Disposal: Establishing collection bins for used vape devices to prevent environmental contamination and accidental exposure.

  • Community Engagement: Collaborating with local organizations and volunteers to expand their reach and impact.
